Jules-Elie Delaunay

The Nantes Museum of Fine Arts possesses the world's largest collection of the works of Nantes-born painter Jules-Elie Delaunay (1828-1891).

To mark the digitisation of the entire Delaunay collection – almost 3000 works – and the publication of the catalogue raisonné of the museum's ninteenth-century prints and drawings, an internet site is being exclusively dedicated to the Delaunay oeuvre.

A selection of his drawings were presented as part of Trésors cachés/Hidden Treasures, the exhibition of nineteenth-century masterpieces at the Chapelle de l’Oratoire in Nantes (10 February – 6 May 2012).

Exhibition curator: Cyrille Sciama, Heritage Curator in charge of the nineteenth-century collection at the Nantes Museum of Fine Arts.
